LOCATION & FACILITY
Location
Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is located in Fort Myers in the heart of sunny Southwest Florida. FGCU was developed as an environmentally friendly campus and maintains over half of its 760 acres in their natural state. The campus is situated less than 4 miles from Fort Myers Airport (RSW).
Facilities
The facilities at Florida Gulf Coast University are state-of-the-art. The university has enjoyed much growth in recent years, so most of the sporting facilities are close to new. The tennis center has 12 lighted hard courts. Located parallel to the tennis
center is a state-of-the-art aquatic and basketball facility. A unique feature that FGCU has is its own man made private beach that is the site for some of the team competitions.
Accommodations
The accommodations at FGCU are kept in fantastic order. Campers will stay at FGCU�s on campus residence halls in four-person, furnished, lake front apartments. The apartments are equipped with a refrigerator so that campers can bring those favorite snacks and drinks from home. Campers are within a short walk to the tennis courts, aquatic facility, dining hall, and main campus, as well as their own private beach.
Supervision
The safety and supervision of each camper is our top priority. Staff supervises campers 24 hours a day and for all of the activities.
The Staff stays on-site in the apartments with the campers and provides a safe, and fun environment for all campers. Parents can rest easy knowing that their child is being taken care of.
Roommate Requests
Please be sure to indicate all roommate requests on your application. Roommate preference must be requested by both campers. If no request is made, a roommate will be assigned based on age. Each apartment accommodates 4 campers and no more than 4 are allowed in each apartment. Roommate assignments are made one week prior to each camp session, changes made after that time can not be guaranteed.
Meals
All meals are served in an air-conditioned dining hall and provided by ARAMARK. Campers will have multiple options available
at all meals.
Airport Service
Ground transportation is available for those arriving by air. We request that you provide us with your flight information 1 week prior to arrival. Fort Myers (RSW) is the only airport that we offer transportation to and from.
