Cliff Drysdale Tennis Coronavirus Status Updates

Cliff Drysdale Tennis, a division of Troon, will be updating all facility, club and resort property information in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on this webpage. Our top priority is the safety and health of our employees, members, guests and all that visit our locations around the world. Alongside our location partners, we are following recommendations from government and health agencies at the local, state, national and international level.

“The Coronavirus pandemic has impacted nearly everyone in the world, including our locations, employees and customers. We are following all guidelines from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and are working to do our part in controlling the spread of this virus. We are ensuring that all of our managed locations have taken extra precautions to keep our employees and customers safe. This situation is highly fluid and is changing by day, and these policies may change. We are prepared to take any and all measures necessary to do what’s right. We look forward to welcoming tennis players onto our courts when possible, and hope that we’ll be back to providing the Ultimate Tennis Experience for all players very soon.”

Scott Colebourne, Chief Operating Officer

Specific programs and measures that have been updated to lower risk across CDT properties include:

  • No high fives, hand shakes or physical contact in any Adult or Junior program. Social distancing is being added wherever possible.

  • Children or adults are not to pick up balls with their hands. The tennis balls are to be rolled into the corner and only picked up by a hopper that the pro controls. The hoppers will be wiped down and disinfected before and after each use.

  • All red and orange ball programs/play options are suspended until further notice. This typically includes children under the age of 8.

  • Pros have adjusted their programs to each ball is fed by the teaching pro and never by the guest.

  • All players are required to wash their hands in the bathroom or at a location’s designated hand sanitizing station before a class, clinic or lesson begins.

  • All clinic and program player/pro ratios have been adjusted so that there are players are at least 6 feet apart, as recommended by the CDC.

  • Programs will not include serving to avoid multiple hands touching the tennis ball.
