Creating Value With Special Events

Among the most powerful of all marketing communications strategies, special events offer our tennis clubs the opportunity to bring together large audiences and present unique and memorable experiences that resonate with tennis fans of all ages and abilities.

Tennis events yield numerous benefits. These include but are not limited to: increased visibility and strengthened identity for our clubs and organization, a feeling of goodwill amongst our staff, membership and event sponsors, and sponsorship revenue opportunities that provide marketing and hospitality benefits in exchange for cash consideration.

At Cliff Drysdale Tennis, we activate an annual calendar of various types of special events at all of our locations. At membership clubs, we offer monthly themed mixers that are social in nature and allow members to play in round robin competitions with different partners each round, followed by a social gathering that often includes a food and beverage element. These monthly events are key in adding social elements to the game of tennis, creating new friendships and bonds that keep players coming back for more! We also mix in complimentary Family Fun Days to cater to parents and their children, as well as the standard tennis tournaments for all ages and skill levels that are geared toward competition so of which are to the scale of professional tournaments.

What truly stands our company apart from our competitors is the additional layer of “signature events” activated by our pros and corporate marketing team. These vary from celebrity charity events featuring currents stars of the game such as the Williams Sisters, Simona Halep and Nick Kyrgios to legends of the game including John Newcombe and Chris Evert; Doubles Boot Camp Weekends, Ladies Tennis Retreats and our newest offering “Tennis and Wine Weekends.” These signature events not only provide thrilling spectator opportunities with exhibitions by the pros, but also on court experiences that range from instructional clinics to pro ams and cocktail hours with the stars. Many would say these are bucket list items, and the excitement generated from both the participants and our pro staff is second to none and keep people coming back year after year.

Lastly, our Touring Camp events round out our varied list of opportunities activated by our CDT Team. These events showcase what an adult tennis camp experience is like at our resort locations and are activated by a team of CDT pros at tennis clubs around the country that are not CDT managed. These events are among the most powerful marketing tools in our arsenal to promote tennis travel and acquire new customers. The unique on court and off court experiences bring value to the clubs we activate them at, both from a revenue generating standpoint and the excitement level of participants that leave the events wanting to play more tennis.

We love special events at CDT and embrace the value they bring to our clubs and other tennis facilities around the world, and it is no surprise that one of our mottos is “Creating Memorable Experiences, On and Off the Court!”
