PTU Profile: Brandon Eastman

Favorite Shot: My favorite shot is the inside-out forehand.

Best Tennis Memory: My best tennis memory is when I picked up a racquet and hit a ball for the very first time when I was 7/8 years old. I can clearly remember the instant joy I experienced and that feeling has not gone away. I've been hooked every since.

What has been your favorite event or program to teach during your time at Cliff Drysdale Tennis and why? I love working with our junior players. They are always so full of energy and it is an amazing experience when you get to witness their ‘light bulb’ moments on the court.

What part of being a tennis pro do you feel you've improved at the most during your time in the program? I have improved quite a bit on my feeding, but also my overall self-confidence in giving technical feedback and instruction, and not being afraid to make mistakes. Having the chance to learn from so many experienced tennis professionals has provided the opportunity to grow my knowledge of the game and improve in several areas that I have generally considered to be weaknesses.

If you could teach a private lesson to any person in the world, who would it be and why? I would want to teach a private lesson to Billie Jean King because I know for a fact that I would learn way more from her than she would from me. She has been, and remains, such an inspiration to so many people; I would just love to get the opportunity to interact with her and listen to some of her stories and experiences, both in tennis and in life.

What advice would you have for those interested in joining the PTU program? If you want to invest in your future; look no further. The PTU program will give you practical experience in all areas of the tennis and sports management industry and prepare you for your future. You will be challenged every day to step out of your comfort zone, you will learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable, and you will meet a lot of incredible people along the way.
