Cliff Drysdale Tennis, a Troon Company, has been selected to manage racquets operations at Esplanade Golf and Country Club at Lakewood Ranch, a private residential community located just northeast of Sarasota, Florida. Jon Kooy has been named Director of Court Sports, effective immediately.
Ideally located on Florida’s west coast, Esplanade Lakewood Ranch is made up of 1250 residential units, including 956 single family homes and 294 condominiums. The master planned community features world-class amenities and endless possibilities for enjoying recreational activities, programs and lifestyle. Racquets facilities include six lighted har-tru clay tennis courts and eight lighted pickleball courts.

Jon Kooy has been named Director of Court Sports and will oversee all areas of the tennis and pickleball programs. Kooy, who is originally from Vancouver, Canada, is an experienced professional and club leader who has managed programs and operations at a variety of luxury resorts and private clubs. He most recently served as Head Tennis Professional at Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. He has also held key roles at Carmel Valley Ranch, Tafelberg Tennis Oasis and JW Marriott Desert Springs. Kooy is still an avid player, having achieved a top 5 ITF ranking in the 35+ singles category for Canada, and says his love for the game fuels his love for coaching.
