An all new tennis charity event is coming to New Braunfels, TX this April. 24 Hours of Tennis, hosted by John Newcombe Country Club, features a packed schedule of clinics, exhibition matches and other activities featuring guests such as International Tennis Hall of Fame legend Cliff Drysdale.
This event is open to the public, with proceeds benefiting ACEing Autism, a national non-profit that connects children on the autistic spectrum to tennis. Cal Loveridge, Adult Director of Tennis at the John Newcombe Country Club, will be participating in tennis activities for the entirety of the 24 hour event.
"First off, we're really excited to support a great cause in ACEing Autism," Loveridge said. "I know it's going to be a big challenge personally, but I'm embracing that and all of the support from our community is much appreciated."
Tennis legend Cliff Drysdale will serve as Master of Ceremonies, kicking off the event Friday evening at 6pm. Tennis activities will include instructional adult clinics, games and competitions for prizes, USTA Net Gen Family clinics, dedicated time slots to hit with Loveridge, a pro exhibition and more. Social events include Friday dinner, drinks and live music, silent auction, breakfast and coffee, lunch, and a Happy Hour Awards Ceremony. A full schedule of events can be found below.
Proceeds from the event will be used to allow ACEing Autism to start a new weekly program at the John Newcombe Country Club. There will be a demo clinic hosted at the event by ACEing Autism founder Richard Spurling.
"With Cal Loveridge’s 24 Hours of Tennis event we will raise money to provide scholarships for our newest ACEing Autism location at the John Newcombe Country Club," Spurling said. "We look forward to providing a tennis program in New Braunfels to serve families that are desperately seeking recreational outlets that cater to children with autism.”
Individual tickets for the event will be available for purchase starting Monday, February 12th. Group sales and sponsorship inquiries are available now.
