Three New State of the Art Padel Tennis Courts to be Completed by January 2020
Cliff Drysdale Tennis and The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, are teaming up to offer three new cutting-edge padel tennis courts on the beachfront property, serving up an exclusive experience as the only facility in Miami to feature both tennis and padel facilities. Construction is underway, and the courts are expected to be completed and ready for play by January 1, 2020.
Miami has established itself as the no. 1 American city for padel—a sport which is extremely popular in Europe and South America and continues to gain momentum throughout the rest of the United States. Available for year-round play in an island escape setting, the three courts at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscanye, Miami’s renowned Cliff Drysdale Tennis Garden will be the first padel courts on Key Biscayne. The new offering will complement the resort’s already-notable tennis program, which features clinics, lessons with the pros, summer camps, and a specialized concierge for personalized experiences on Drysdale-designed clay courts.
“We are thrilled to be adding padel at one of our signature locations,” said Don Henderson, CEO and President of Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “We take immense pride in being the premier racquet sport location on Key Biscayne and in greater Miami. This addition of padel makes our facility second to none.”
All Racquet Sports, the country’s principal expert on padel, is leading the construction and development of the three courts, which are amongst the newest and most innovative in the world. Technological highlights include aluminum exclusive profiles, laser cut anchor plates, LED lighting and AFP Turf Monofibre. This technology makes the courts at Cliff Drysdale Tennis Gardens at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami the first of its kind in the United States.
Cliff Drysdale Tennis has also announced the first 50 confirmed applicants will receive a founding membership, which includes unlimited access to the padel and tennis courts, programming benefits and more. The grand opening weekend will take place January 17-18, 2020 with a number of activities such as a pro exhibition, clinic and a social event. Additionally, an Intro to Padel course and Padel Certification session will be held during the week by Marcos del Pilar of All Racquet Sports.
