Cliff Drysdale Tennis Selected to Manage Operations at Rome Tennis Center at Berry College

Cliff Drysdale Tennis, a Troon Company, has been selected to manage tennis operations at Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, an expansive tennis facility that opened in 2016 and features 57-courts on a 30 acre site.

Located about 75 miles northwest of Atlanta, Rome Tennis Center at Berry College (RTCBC) is comprised of USTA standard, asphalt tennis courts, 6 NCAA regulation courts, 6 indoor courts and 3 center courts for tournament and collegiate play. All courts have lighting and access to shade structures. The 3,966-square-foot, lodge-like clubhouse is a focal point of the facility. One key element of the clubhouse is the 2,656 sq. ft. tennis porch that overlooks “main event” courts and NCAA-regulation courts. Only upon visiting the site can one appreciate the spectacular, panoramic view that is afforded from the porch.

The indoor facility was completed in 2020 and boasts six indoor hard courts available for play. The 51,063 square foot facility is conditioned for play to stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. With seating for just over 400 spectators the indoor center is ready to host events and tournaments for all levels of play. Top Spin Terrace is a viewing deck that was added in 2021. It provides excellent views of the championship courts as well as an encompassing view of the facility and the rolling hills and trees that surround the site.

Operations also include management of The Downtown Tennis and Pickleball Center. The facility features 14 lighted USTA standard tennis courts and 6 dedicated pickleball courts. A newly renovated clubhouse overlooks the courts.

“Rome Tennis Center at Berry College is one of the most advanced and active tennis centers in the nation,” said Scott McCulloch, Vice President of Operations for Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Rome to enhance programming, elevate the customer experience and host a number of signature events.”

Founded in 2001 by International Tennis Hall of Fame member Cliff Drysdale and partner Don Henderson, Cliff Drysdale Tennis specializes in daily tennis and fitness operations and management for resorts, hotels and private clubs; sports design and construction consultation for companies interested in building world-class facilities; educational programs, summer camps, clinics and retreats; and resort, hotel corporate outing planning and leisure operations.
