Pleasanton, Ca (May 21, 2020) -- Cliff Drysdale Tennis has been selected to manage tennis operations at Castlewood Country Club, a private membership club located in Pleasanton, California. Thomas Earl Lozano has been named Director of Tennis, effective immediately. Programming will begin on a limited basis with an emphasis on safe-play and social distancing.

Castlewood Country Club has a storied history of golf, tennis and family life in Northern California’s Alameda County. Dating back to 1886, Castlewood sits in the greater Tri-Valley area and features a number of amenities for all ages including two Championship Golf Courses, Tennis, Pickleball, Swimming Pool and competitive Swim Team, Bocce Leagues, Dining Venues and a full calendar of events. The tennis facility features four championship courts, all of which are lighted for night play.

“We are so excited to partner with Castlewood Country Club to offer the Ultimate Tennis Experience for their members and guests,” said Scott McCulloch of Operations for Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “This is a stunning property with a great membership. We look forward to building an active and robust program for players of all levels.”

“Castlewood is very excited and looking forward to the partnership with the team at Cliff Drysdale Tennis,” said John Vest, General Manager of Castlewood Country Club. “We want to offer our membership the best tennis experience in the area and I’m confident that we are now in a great position to do so.”

Thomas Earl Lozano, originally from Pecos, Texas, most recently completed Cliff Drysdale Tennis’s Professional Tennis U program, which features industry leading training and development for elite tennis professionals and managers. Lozano played collegiate tennis at Schreiner University and has taught at clubs and resorts throughout the country, including John Newcombe Country Club, Southampton Racquet Club, and the Omni Amelia Island Plantation.

“I’m thrilled to oversee the tennis program at Castlewood,” said Lozano. “I look forward to making our tennis program one that is full of energy and has great options for all players.”

Tennis programs and operations at Castlewood have been adjusted to ensure the safety of all members, guests and staff. Low-ratios on court and new sanitation procedures will ensure that players can enjoy tennis while maintaining proper social distancing.
