The United States Tennis Association (USTA) Utah division has awarded Red Ledges as the 2019 Organization of the Year for their efforts in growing tennis at all levels in a previously underserved area. Established in 2007, the award is presented annually in recognition of the services rendered by a USTA Organization member in the State of Utah for their support to the Utah Tennis Association in helping grow tennis participation in all levels. Managed by Cliff Drysdale Tennis (CDT), Director of Tennis Michael Topp and his team have introduced new programs for adults and juniors. Red Ledges has fielded many new USTA League teams over the last 12 months, helping create a strong tennis community in Utah. “They have such great teams with beautiful sportsmanship,” said Ally Sundberg, District League Coordinator for USTA Utah. “It starts at the top with Michael Topp as their Director, and filters down to all the players in their facility." Located in Heber City, Red Ledges is home to one of the most scenic private tennis clubs in the Park City region. A full slate of clinics, lessons, camps, leagues and special events are offered for members. Due to significant program growth, the club added two new courts championship hard courts in 2017. In addition to the four courts available seasonally, two courts are enclosed each winter for indoor play. Red Ledges was also named Cliff Drysdale Tennis’s Club of the Year in 2018. “When Red Ledges was envisioned as a private community nearly 13 years ago, Cliff Drysdale Tennis was always part of that vision,” said Red Ledges’ General Manager John Johnson. “To see what the CDT team and Michael Topp have done to fulfil this has been amazing. Michael brings his enthusiasm and energy to the courts with him everyday and it shows in the loyalty and support our members and guests have with him. It has certainly helped put Red Ledges on the tennis map in the state of Utah.” “We'd like to thank the leadership team at Red Ledges for their significant support of tennis, including the new courts which have allowed for significantly more league play,” said Scott Colebourne, Chief Operations Officer of Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “Through their vision and the hard work of Michael Topp, we’ve been able to grow tennis at all levels.” Red Ledges boasts an award winning golf community, managed by Troon, with additional amenities ranging from tennis, swimming, fitness and much more. The four seasons private community pioneered by Tony Burns and Nolan Archibald has become the most successful in the Park City area.
